What We Do

The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust:
 

• Conducts a programme of high quality cetacean monitoring and research: onboard Silurian, and supported by our Community Sightings Network, we conduct long-term monitoring of distribution, relative abundance and habitat use of the cetaceans in Hebridean waters. • Run an interactive education, community engagement and citizen science programme to a wide range of people to disseminate our research results to raise public awareness of the great diversity of cetaceans in the Hebrides. Find out more about our education and outreach programme
• Is the leading voice for the conservation of Hebridean cetaceans: working within local communities to ensure long-term sustainability of the marine environment and providing those who manage Scotland's marine species and habitats with the information they need to ensure effective conservation of the area's diverse cetacean population.
